4. How would you describe your architectural language?
5. What are the main civic offerings of your building?
6. What is your proposition for the typology of the library in the 21st Century?
1. What is your key Concept?
My key concept is to the progressive stance of what was a tradition library to the modern library, where traditionally its a place to seek knowledge where one creates their own thinking bubble. To now where the library is seen more community base where it creates its own social bubble, as now the library has evolved as a place where not only we go to seek knowledge but also as a social setting.
2. Why have you chosen your key concept for the State Library of Victoria Redesign?
the sense of community is expanding evermore than normal such as our own social bubble the libraries bubble expands more to. As it interacts with the old and the new library as a chemical reaction where the dissolves part of the traditional library to make room for a new ever expanding one.
3. What is your attitude to heritage and preservation?
I planned to keep the most historical and significant parts of the library as its part of its identity, and by doing so i intent to hold traditional library programs within the. I have also base my alternations around to further emphasis their importance.
4. How would you describe your architectural language?
My architectural language as infusing curvature forms that contrast the current existing building to create a sense of a thinking bubble or cloud. Where using a bubbly form shows the ever evolving and growing sense and purpose of the library internally and externally, as pockets of inspiration.
5. What are the main civic offerings of your building?
My building provides an array of civic opportunities for those around from a more interactive and engaging both outside and inside area for people of all ages and abilities, such as green grass space, child care and a brill/audio room to name a few. Due having certain parts of the library slightly separated also allows longer opening hours for some parts of the building.
6. What is your proposition for the typology of the library in the 21st Century?
My library looks more into open small pockets of open space specific to its indented programs that still respects the traditional sense of the library by in its historical parts while infusing it with a more modern take of the library that focus more on the sense of community.
